Just a quick reminder that Akira Kuroswa's Stray Dog (1949) will be screened tonight at Japan Society NY at 7:00 pm. The police prodcedural stars Toshiro Mifune as a rookie detective desperately trying to recover his stolen service revolver and Takashi Shimura as his seasoned section chief. Tonight's screening is a fantastic opportunity to see this great film in glorious 35mm black and white.
