2012 marks the 100th anniversary of Japan's gift of cherry trees to the United States, symbolizing an enduring cross-cultural friendship. The sixth annual Japan Day @ Central Park, a showcase of vibrant contemporary and traditional Japanese culture, will celebrate this centennial through cultural activities, stage performances and, back by popular demand, a variety of food booths.
Be sure to stop by the Yo-Yo Fishing Tent (yo-yo tsuri) co-hosted by Japan Society and the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program Alumni Association of New York.
