PERSONAL TAILOR sets record in China and is doing well in the U.S.

Some interesting news has been coming out about Personal Tailor.which opened in China on December 19th and in limited release in North America on the 20th.

First off, it set a new opening day record for a 2-D film in China. After 6 days the comedy had earned the equivalent of  $65.1 million U.S. dollars and was the top grossing film for the week of December 16-22.

In the U.S., distributor China Lion has been very happy with Personal Tailor's performance and is still playing it throughout most of the initial locations, including here New York City.

ACF 2049: Theatrical release of PERSONAL TAILOR set for Dec 20th

On Friday, December 20th, China Lion will release the Feng Xiaogang comedy Personal Tailor in theaters in select cities. It’s said to be a very unique film and akin to The Dream Factory, a prior project of his.

Feng's previous works also include Back to 1942, a drama about a terrible famine that struck China’s Henan province during World War II. That film, also released by China Lion and available on Netflix streaming, was China’s submission to the Foreign Language category for the Academy Awards this year.
