ACF 1567: Final days of JAPAN CUTS

After a break today, the final five days of JAPAN CUTS: The New York Festival of Contemporary Japanese Cinema will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, July 24th, and there are still some super fine films to see and one extra-special event.

Rebirth will be shown on Tuesday at 7 pm.

Wednesday will offer two films: Rent-A-Cat at 7 pm and Ushijima the Loan Shark at 9:15.

The international premiere of Don't Stop! on Thursday at 7 pm will be followed by the DON'T STOP JAPAN CUTS party.

Leonie will be shown on Friday at 7 pm with an introduction and Q&A with director Hisako Matsui.

Saturday, the last day of the festival, will offer a total of five films. A Gentle Rain Falls for Fukushima will start things off at 1 pm, and Women on the Edge will follow at 3 pm,. Both are part of the Focus on Post 3.11 sidebar. Both of these features will be preceded by We Are All Radioactive, a series of short films.

Lonely Swallows will be shown on Saturday at 5, and The Brat! at 7.

Closing out the festival will be Space Battleship Yamato, a live-action version of the landmark 1974 animated series, with a showtime of 9:00 pm.
