Japanese director (45 titles at IMDb) and writer (168 titles) Kaneto Shindo died of natural causes in the morning hours of May 29 at the age of 100. He was born on April 22 1912 in Hiroshima prefecture. His last film, Postcard, which he both directed and wrote the screenplay for, was released in 2010.
