The ratings-hungry producers seek out legendary, but largely forgotten street fighters and mine their desperation for recaptured glory and redemption into ratings gold.
Based on the Korean web comic Legendary Fist, Fists of Legend features three old friends and rivals from high school days. Twenty-five years later, they get invitation to the big fight for the chance to win $200,000 and much more. Deok-kyu, whose Olympic dreams were dashed, now runs a struggling noodle shop. Jae-seok who always wanted to be number one but still finds himself in a third-rate gang. And Sang-hoon, a thug turned corporate executive who must go back and find his bloodlust one last time.
An epic saga about friendship and family, Fists of Legend moves back and forth between the present day and their long-lost glory days, with the film featuring a high-octane blend of staged MMA alongside street fights.
Directed by legendary Korean filmmaker KANG Woo-suk (Public Enemy Trilogy, Moss, Silmido) with fights and action choreographed by top talent JUNG Doo-Hong (G.I Joe Retaliation, The Berlin File, Mongol) Fists of Legend delivers a one-two punch of unparalleled action and dramatic story.
