On Friday, December 20th, China Lion will release the Feng Xiaogang comedy Personal Tailor in theaters in select cities. It’s said to be a very unique film and akin to The Dream Factory, a prior project of his.
Personal Tailor will be playing at:
AMC Empire (New York)
AMC Atlantic Times Square (Los Angeles area/Monterey Park)
AMC Puente Hills (Los Angeles area/Rowland Heights-City of Industry)
SilverCity Riverport (Vancouver)
Cineplex Odeon Yonge & Dundas (Toronto)
Regal Cinemas Dole Cannery (Honolulu)
Check local listings for showtimes.
Feng's previous works also include Back to 1942, a drama about a terrible famine that struck China’s Henan province during World War II. That film, also released by China Lion and available on Netflix streaming, was China’s submission to the Foreign Language category for the Academy Awards this year. I'm excited about the upcoming release of Personal Tailor from this talented, controversial and outspoken Chinese filmmaker. I expect to receive a screener soon, so look for a review here at AsianCineFest on or before December 20th.
